Ahhhh the good stuff

Why are christians usually only known for what they are against instead of what they are for? Pastor kurt said this last night and it resignated with my heart--tonight we spent an hor cleaning toilets. It worked like this: we would walk into a business and say, "we are cleaning toilets for free tonight-where are yours?" Then two would go clean while the others talked to the employees who wanted to know why anyone would ever do this. We would simply say that we want to make the city a better place, or that we want to show the love of jesus in a practical way. We would hand them flyers about the church and just do our thing and answer any questions. It was so different for me, and way out of my comfort zone. The effect ws remarkable. Business owners would try to pay us or give us stuff, but we were instructed to not take anything so the person could not buy their way out of thinking through the love shown them. People would just stare at us and smile, and I could see they were going to be talking and thinking about this for a while.

It also had an awesome effect on our students pushing them to serve in ways that were out of most limits.
Jesus said he came to serve and not to be served. How do we measure up to this standard?

Free prayer

It was a little awkard-and way out of my comfort zone, but several people let us pray for them. Afterward it was like a total transformation as they let down their guard and would smile laugh, and sometimes tear-up. The guy below was watching us from the store he wprked at and came out on his break to get prayer. His name was Caman

I am serious about my dunkin donuts coffee. I make sure every team I lead to boston has a cup of this nectar from heaven. It gets in their bloodstream and they are hooked for life. God is so good to us and the evidence is dunkin donuts coffee.

First kids program in this park

About 20 kids and 10 adults, showd up for our first program--when we arrived there was a mom snorting cocaine at the picnic table while her kids played on the swings- we will be there all week to minister to the neighborhood.
